Talk:Cumberland Park Project
From BurningBook
Senator John Edwards sent a letter to the Director of the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (approximately October 10) requesting an evaluation of the Cumberland Park project. He referenced the Roanoke Times editorial and the fact that he had been contacted by numerous citizens expressing concerns about the project. This is encouraging but no guarantee that DEQ will delay the project application beyond the October 25 due date for their approval. WE NEED PhD GEOLOGISTS, HYDROLOGISTS, AND SOIL SCIENTIST TO GET INVOLVED BY VISITING THE SITE AND MAKING AN INITIAL EVALUATION OF CONCERNS ABOUT THE SITE AND PROVIDING THEIR WRITTEN CONCERNS TO DEQ PRIOR TO OCTOBER 25. If this doesn't occur, we have lost the battle. DEQ isn't going to delay this project based on expressed concerns from average citizens but they will listen to those who hold graduate degrees in associated fields that qualify them as an expert on the subject. I implore anyone and everyone who can bring this issue to the attention of these PhD's and beg them to get involved immediately.
